Lamborghini is probably the first  “L” word that comes out of super car lovers (me included) when asked about their favorite super car brand.  I am pretty sure many hearts must have been broken post the “Delhi Valet Parking incident”

The respectable brand that is owned by Audi is known for its legendary super cars. We might have had the chance to drive one of these cars in a game and yes definitely in our dream. Some of us might have heard a Lamborghini roar away to glory and a few of us might have even had a chance to sit behind the wheels and take this mighty bull for a spin.

Headquartered at Sant Agata, Lamborghini is known to always accentuate its luxury on wheels. Some cars that have been rolled out include: Gallardo, Murcielago, Diablo, Miura, Countach etc. Each and every name that has been engraved in Lamborghini’s history has always exuded sheer flamboyance. Simply revving the engine reinforces raw brutal power prepared to conquer roads.

Indian’s have greeted Lamborghini and Murcielago with pride. If you have deep pockets and you’re looking for something cutting edge. There is certainly good news for you.

August 2014 is going to be a happy month for Indian Lamborghini fans. The newly designed car “Huracan” is all set to storm the Indian roads. India is becoming a super-car hub with ever increasing enthusiasts burning their pockets deep just to get the taste of speed.

According to Stephan Wilkelmann (global CEO Lamborghini), Lamborghini sales was quite good during 2013. A total of 22 cars were sold in India [We’ve all seen one in Delhi ;)] and the global sales was quite lucrative too. A total of 2121 cars were sold globally in the year 2013.

Gallardo has set a benchmark in Indian super car history after being labeled the most successful super car. Now it’s time for its successor Huracan to rage the roads.

Although the Indian sales aren’t a big achievement, India (out of four destinations) is on Lamborghini’s production radar. (Let’s hope that happens)

Making its first appearance at the Geneva Motor Show, the Huracan has had various love struck eyes glued on to its unique design and more so, its raging power. The Gallardo has been quite successful all over the world, the Lamborghini Huracan carried on the legacy with 1000 pre-orders globally even before the car’s official debut.


The Lamborghini Hurracan is definitely a speed demon covering 0-100km/h in a mere 3.2 seconds with the help of its smart 7-speed automatic gearbox riveted to its 5.2 liter V10 engine that is hand built.

Power comes in 2 versions with the Lamborghini Aventador taking the lead with massive raging bulls under its hood followed by the Huracan (a worthy replacement of the Gallardo)


The Lamborghini Huracan is nimble, and comfortable than the previous members of the Lamborghini family. The Huracan is all about being modish. The chassis in the Huracan is about 10% lighter than the Gallardo. The materials used such as Carbon-fibre, Light weight aluminum, and reinforced plastic make the hybrid chassis a stunner. At the heart of the Huracan is a massive 5204cc engine waiting to prance.

Being a smaller member of the Lamborghini family, the Huracan has a 10-cylinder unit, which is smaller than 12 cylinders on the Aventador.  The Huracan’s full name is Huracan LP 610-4 – meaning the 620 Bhp beast has the power on all the four wheels but, the rear wheels get more power. The Huracan produces 560 Nm torque at 6500 RPM. The beast gets thirsty for fuel every 5.68 km (approx 5.68 km per litre)

The General Motor’s subsidiary Chevrolet is known for its high class and trendy looking designs. Today lets review a car which is built by Chevy under General Motors. This car has un-matchable aggressive looks and it is probably the best of Chevy’s design ever. It has been featured in Michael Bay’s sci-fi film …. yes you got it right it’s the bumble bee Camaro.

The power to this car comes from the supercharged 6.2-liter and 3.6-liter V-8 code named LSA, which is considered as the most predominant V8’s ever built till date. 2014 Ford Fiesta: First Impressions

American auto giant Ford recently released the next gen Fiesta also called as 2014 Ford Fiesta for the Indian market. First unveiled back in 1999 as the Ikon, the Ford sedan fast became one of the biggest success stories of the Indian automotive industry and cemented the American automaker’s reputation here in India.

Although the Ikon was an impressive car to drive, stricter emission norms led to Ford discontinuing the product, to introduce a more fuel efficient and budget friendly model in the form of the Fiesta. Although the sedan’s successive iterations did not make as big an impact as the original Ikon, the Fiesta was praised for its impeccable driving dynamics and value for money. Ford has now released the next generation Fiesta, now fully loaded to compete with the likes of the Hyundai Verna and Honda City.

Many criticized the outgoing model for its overly stylized headlamps and disproportionate body. This time however, Ford has drastically improved in the design segment. While keeping the large, swept back headlamps, the Fiesta now sports the hexagonal split grille first seen on the Ford EcoSport adding a touch of class to the car. The power lines running along the bonnet and angular styling of the front bumper add to the Fiesta’s sporty charm that was lacking in previous models. The pushed back fog lamp cluster design and flared wheel arches make the front end of the Ford a looker from any angle.

Sadly the rear leaves much to be improved upon. While the front end of the sedan is all sharp creases and angles, the rear makes use of blunt curves and rounded edges. The AppLink system also promotes developers to create apps for the Ford Fiesta. The American car maker officially promotes the development of apps for the car’s system. This means that over the course of the next few years, AppLink will have its own ecosystem of apps not unlike that of Android or iOS. Although possibilities are quite limited right now, with the inclusion of a larger screen with more options, we can certainly hope to see an advanced Ford EcoSystem complete with a multitude of apps created by indie developers.

The 2014 Fiesta Face-lift will only be offered with a diesel engine. With the ever increasing fuel prices, the dropping of the petrol engine does make sense; However the Fiesta is now left inaccessible to an audience that enjoys the pleasure of driving. Hopefully we may see the company’s critically acclaimed 1.0 L EcoBoost engine on its way later in the Fiesta’s lifetime.

Despite this however, a Ford Fiesta will always be a good buy regardless of how little features it packs solely for its unbeatable driving dynamics. Although the Honda City may have similar characteristics, the Fiesta packs more for less. And that will be the sedan’s true selling point.

Pontiac G8 – the Police car

Today lets speak about a car which was actually “The Lasting Standing Car from Pontiac Clan” – the Pontiac G8. It is stated as the last standing car from Pontiac because after this car was released to the public, general motors which runs the Pontiac Company announced that it has decided to suspend the Pontiac Brand due to low investment and Bankruptcy, and hence the tale of Pontiac came to an end in the automobile history!

The last release from Pontiac is G8 and today I am going to review about this car. This car was first unveiled at 2007 Chicago Auto Show. It was the first rear wheel drive offered by the company since its 1986 releases of Bonneville and Parisienne. G8 was based on the famous General motor’s GM Zeta Platform.

2014 Scion FR-S Monogram: An Overview

Now-a-days, getting a sports car to our home is a million dollar dream as many sports car prices are reaching sky high!  From Mustang to the Dodge Viper, every sports car price is equal to our full life savings and we can only find these cars in houses of Business Tycoons, Hollywood Actors and Music Artists. After observing the technical specification we can come to a point where we can judge the performance of the car. By looks the car looks like an ordinary sports bread, but under the hood the capacity is low. The 2014 Scion FR-S is powered by a 2.0-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine which can generate a decent amount of power up to 200 horsepower. It is not able to generate much torque at all, as it can only generate a peak torque up to 6400rpm ( which is a considerable drawback of this car ). Another thing that is considered as both advantageous and a disadvantage too i.e. due to the flat layout of this engine the boosting capability of this car is low which is a considerable drawback, but this also turns out to be an advantage too as this can help to increase the handling of the car at a gradual speed and due to thee factors, the handling capabilities of this car turns out to be amazing than any other car in its class. When it comes to car interiors, they are decent and not as luxurious as in other sport variants. The car interiors are filled with some soft plastics which in turn decreases the interior looks. When it comes to space quotient, the car cabin looks quite spacious and in the front there is enough leg space but this quotient gets decreased when it comes to the rear seating as they were designed by considering the children in a family. However they can be folded in order to get some extra boot space. The black coated leather in interiors look neat and clean. All the controls in the car are neatly furnished and other features such as Bluetooth and Auxiliary Cable connectivity, Touch screen Radio, Touch Navigation System, AC-Vents, Mp3/IPod Support, Climatic control cabin, Cruise Control are also present in this car.

The new Santa Fe is equipped with a new technology known as the flexi-steer technology. The new Santa Fe is the first model to get this technology from Hyundai. It allows the user to change steering to three profiles such as Comfort, Normal and Sport. While driving in city roads you can set the driving mode to normal or comfort mode and while on highway you can change it to sport mode for a convenient steering at higher speeds. Santa Fe suits for both on and off road conditions. The hill hold function can help you to drive in hill slope conditions too.

The Great Rise:

Before previewing the newly released Saab. We would surely need to take a look back to its history, so we can understand SAAB’s greatness and why it is considered as one of the predominant automobile manufacturer in the world. Saab was first started in the year in 1945. But the roots of this car come back from 1937, where Saab AB (Svenska Aeroplan AB) a Swedish aerospace and defense company was started in Linköping-Sweden, in order to build the aircrafts for Swedish Air-force as World War II started provoking at that moment and Europe stared actively participating in World War II. The European armies were in dire need of air based weaponry and at that moment Saab AB was considered as one of the major sources for air based weaponry. As the war gets settled, the market for airplanes were slowly decreased and the company was looking for a new market to continue. In 1945 the automobile market boomed, getting Saab to enter in to the automobile market and in the same year Saab introduced a single engine car Saab 91. 2010-14: Reinventing Saab.

In 2010, due to investment problems the Swedish automobile maker didn’t release any Saab cars into the market. After bankruptcy and a billion dollar damage it sold Saab to a Chinese based company: National Electric Vehicle (Nev) in 2012. When you look at a super bike in this scale and with the BMW tag, you can expect real big specs .It is forged  with a breathtaking  1170cc  four stroke petrol mill that manages to churn out 110bhp, which will  work out to produce a maximum of  119Nm at 6000 RPM.  The  1170cc powerhouse is eventually air cooled which is a acclaimed twin-boxer engine . Throttle all the way and you can achieve a highest speed of 200kmph on the NineT .The rear suspension mechanism utilizes the BMW’s one of  the kind  Paralever shaft-drive system, and up front has a conventional inverted telescopic forks.Then there is the six-speed gear mechanism that transfers the power to the rear wheels via a shaft drive system, giving a seamless driving experience . The motor cycle has a 22-liter tank capacity that needs to be filled only with unleaded fuel. Standards are maintained with out a hiss , the front wheel has a 320 mm base and back wheel has 265mm disc brakes with ABS. 

The BMW NineT has a four-section body frame with one front frame and three rear frame sections . The best part is that the rear section can be  completely modified to enjoy a single person ride. The deep humming sound matches well with the looks, performance and is definitely very satisfactory.

The side lines and contours add special attraction to the bike , especially the lines which continue from the fuel tank . The tank is perfectly hand crafted from brushed aluminum, clear lacquered in sides and glossy black in the middle . At the tail is an aluminum storage box which has replaced the pillon seat . The seats have premium quality surface with different optional textures .On the tank is this beautiful black and white combination of a ornamental seam with an embedded gold logo that reads : NineT. This motorcycle can be described as a super bike that has the looks of a ferocious roadster. Riding it is pure pleasure the throttle response is utterly amazing . It is not only good at throttling on a straight but also pretty amazing when zooming through steep corners , bends and turnings. What sets it apart is the unique deep humming sound that is produced, which is well matched with the pure roadster look and feel. Zooming through the city roads or having a happy long drive on the country side? You will sure get the best experience with the twin megaphone silencers. Thanks to the SRR1000 forks which give you a nice front-end look and you  just cannot resist yourself from pressing the throttle a little bit more at the corners to travel faster . The only disappointing factor with these big bikes is that they come with real BIG price tag. It is going to cost you  23.5 lakhs ( ex-Mumbai showroom price ) , and is available in all three BMW Motorrad outlets in  Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi.

Mahindra Ssangyong Korando: An Overview

South Korean car maker Ssangyong has sold its rights in India to Mahindra, which is considered as one of the leading automobile companies in India. After this takeover, Mahindra Ssangyong has shown its two conceptual SUV releases Rexton and Korando to the public. But the Indian manufacturer showed their priority towards Rexton, as Rexton has features which are quite suitable for the Indian roads. Taking this into consideration Ssangyong has released the Rexton in the Indian market in 2012.

After a successful release, Ssangyong Rexton is slowly getting its share in the Indian market. So after the successful release of Rexton, Mahindra is planning to launch the Korando to the Indian market by making some changes to the likes of the Indian market. The SUV which is going to released soon in the Indian market is the Fifth Generation Korando which was displayed in Busson Motor Show.

Interesting Facts: The name “Koranda” is a historical name of “Korea”. As Ssangyong is a Korean based company it choose the historical name of Korea as its car label.  Giogetto Giugiare is a famous Italian automobile designer who is well known for his designs in Fiat, is also involved in designing this SUV.

Let’s jump back to reviewing some salient features of this car so that we can get to a point where we can decide, whether this car has enough features to rock on the Indian roads & capture millions of hearts or it’s just an ordinary release.

Styling Review


The exterior of the car looks very aggressive and sharp looking. The masculine aspects of the car body are well designed and these looks will be one of the most considerable assets of this car. The angular shaped design and most importantly the large wheel arches with flares look stunning and very catchy. The double lined slat grille on the front gives an added beauty to the front.The back is also neatly designed with dual chrome exhausts complementing the front looks. The hexagonal Fog-lamps with LED touching at the front and high mounted stop lights looks good and well placed. The edgy design at the sides of the car is fantastic and it provides good looks to the car. The roof rails make this car quite suitable for touring. The car has long wheel bases which makes it quite suitable on every road.

The interiors look great and well designed. The dashboard looks out-dated but well-furnished with controls and the console is neatly designed with some tech gadgets such as the satellite navigation systems attached to a central touch screen control system. Not only SATNAV, but many other controlling features of this car are attached to the central touch screen system which makes it quite easy for every user to use it. Other features such as the AC-Vents, Music/IPod Player, Climate Control, Cruise-Control, and Central Locking Systems are also given in this car. The High end model can get heating seats as well. The only drawback in the interior is the presence of some cheap plastic which will impact the rating.

Review: Engine, Performance and Driving

The Ssangyong Korando was initially powered by a 2.0-Litre Isuzu Engine. After having an alliance with Mercedes-Benz, one of the world leading automobile manufacturer the Isuzu engine was replaced by the monstrous 2.3-litre Mercedes-Benz engine. This engine helps Korando tremendously, as many folks turned thier heads to Korando due to this engine upgrade. This monstrous engine has drastically changed the performance of the car as the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine is able to power out 175PS and 360Nm of peak torque and it can reach higher speeds within less time. This power makes the car more suitable for on road and off-road driving. The 6 speed manual/automatic transmission gives a precise and balanced amount of power to the car. The added height due to the large wheel base will surely increase the driving experience as the driver can see the road very clearly. The drawback in this is that the engine is sometimes noisy and produces a harsh grunt.

Safety Review: 

With greater performance, the car should have increased safety measure so the peoples inside are safe at high speeds. Hence Ssangyong gives high priority to safety along with performance. The car is provided with safety measures such as the ABS+EBD, Airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) control, Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Active Roll-over Protection (ARP) which certainly adds more protection to this car. These measures have to be provided by Ssangyong, after all the company is targeting 65 dealers across the country. These kinds of features must be provided in order to please them.

Rivalry & Running Cost:

The car faces rivalry from cars such as Chevrolet Captiva, Renault Koleos, Toyota fortuner in its class and in price tag too, as the car is set to have a price tag between 15-20 Lakhs.


Like the previous Ssangyong release Rexton and Korando, also will be produced by Mahindra at their Chakan plant with 22 percent localization. This will allow the manufacture to decide its price tag in a decent way ( and yes the company should consider the pricing of its rivals before deciding the price ). If the company sets the price nominal then this car will see the success of the Rexton model. The yes, five year mileage warranty will be considered as one of the best aspects with this car 🙂

Kawasaki Z800- an Overview

“Big bikes means big cost” , more the power you desire more it is going to cost you – oh yeah ! It is amazing to witness the ever growing  number of multi-cylinder bikes in the Indian market. There is one thing common with  all these multi-cylinder bikes though , they come with a huge price tag !  😐

Kawasaki have their reputation to be considered, they manufacture the meanest and most desirable super bikes world wide . This Japanese mean machine might not just awe-strike you in the first look or feel , but  it gradually grows on to you like music. The more you listen to a song the more you will love it  , Kawasaki Z800 is exactly the same- the more you ride and romp with it the more you will helplessly fall in love with it .

Much of the soul and body was inspired all the way from 1972 when Kawasaki Z series was introduced .The  Z1,  was one of a kind  motorcycle of its time, in the heart of the Kawasaki Z800 lies a  82bhp, 900cc in-line, four-cylinder gasoline engine that is good for over 200kph, which stands as a milestone in the era of super bikes . The Kawasaki Z800 has a very assertive and muscular look which every street head must posses.It is forged in such a brilliant way that you will be nodding in appreciation. Seating for the motor cycle is straight out of a street naked handbook – with a flat and wide handle bar , the foot pegs are slightly raised and towards the rear and there is that massive tank to lock your knees in.You will have to lean your body weight forward to achieve  a comfortable ride.

Design and Appearance 

The all new Kawasaki Z800 (as it is called – the muscular bike ) has a very comprehensive muscle bound look . The only factor that differentiates the much pricy Z1000 and the Z800 is that awesome looking headlight you get with the Z1000. The headlight gleams bright enough with an impressive spread of light  .The bikes instrument cluster is surprisingly easy to read  and also not to mention very informative . There are loads of aggression in-terms of looks of the bike but it lacks a modern essence. Its tail lamps give a nice opposing look and nice touch to the bikes appearance.Then there is the weight factor, it weighs a staggering  231kg ( you will have slight trouble battling the city traffic and performing sharp cuts and turns)

Engine and Performance 

In the heart of this magnificent beast lies a powerhouse of a 806cc petrol engine that produces 113PS at 10,200rpm while 83Nm of torque at a peak of 8000rpm.The engine is so smooth that you almost can’t feel it humming under your seat. This beauty is more than what it meets the eye, just the slightest press on throttle you will find yourself zooming at a high speed in a heartbeat. The engine responses so urgently, so swiftly that it gives such a pleasure to ride it , this is the reason why we Indians just cant resist a four cylinder engine .The clutch is little bit stiff but not so unmanageable , this stiffness gives a slight jerk while you press on to the throttle .The Kawasaki Z800 has a short gear which is typical of a street bike making it so well founded . The company claims that it cant reach from 0 to the magic figure of 100kmph in just 3.5sec and pull out a maximum of 120000 rpm. This beast is claimed to achieve high speeds around of 2oo kmph .

It is undoubtedly one the most quickest bikes around and the brake system is just so tremendous and so impressive. It might not be so robust as its bigger brother the Kawasaki  Z1000, but is just strong enough to decelerate you efficiently.The twin front brakes offers you a crisp bite and good movement . It looks a bit stiff but it is very surprisingly smooth and has very damp suspensions. It is so noticeable that each and every bump is so smooth, you would fall in love with it instantly. When taken on a long drive – it certainly runs smooth and crisp !

The Kawasaki Z800 isn’t the best of its kind or the most perfect naked bike but all that power and performance with such an attractive price makes it the most affordable four stroke engines around.
